How-to: LG Optimus F6: Add, Import / Export and Manage Contacts and Contact Groups

Managing Contacts

Adding a New Contact:

1. Tap the "Contacts" app located on the home screen
2. Tap "New" and select an account to sync the contact with. NOTE: you can tap "Add new account" and follow the on-screen instructions, if you need to add an account
3. Type in the contact's name and tap "Next"
4. Enter the contact's phone number. If required, you can tap the "MOBILE" field and select a different type of number
5. Tap "Next" and enter any additional details
6. Tap "Save"

Adding a Contact to Speed Dial:

1. Tap the "Phone" icon located on the home screen
2. Press the "Menu" button and tap "Speed dial"
3. Select the dial pad number you wish to set
4. Select the contact that you wish to assign to the dial pad number

Deleting a Contact:

1. Launch the "Contacts" application
2. Tap and hold the contact that you wish to remove
3. Tap "Delete contact"
4. Confirm with "Yes"

Importing / Exporting Contacts

Importing Contacts from the SIM Card:

1. Launch the "Contacts" application
2. Press the "Menu" button
3. Tap "Import / Export" > "Import from SIM card"
4. Select "Phone" or "Google"
5. Choose the contacts that you wish to move, or tap "Select all"
6. Tap "Import" > "Yes"

Exporting Contacts to the SIM Card:

1. From the "Contacts" app, tap "Menu"
2. Tap "Import / Export" > "Export to SIM card"
3. Select the desired contacts, or tap "Select all"
4. Tap "Export" > "Yes"

Importing Contacts from the SD Card:

1. Press the "Menu" button while in the "Contacts" app
2. Tap "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card"
3. Choose the desired location ("Phone" or "Google")
4. Mark the contacts that you want to import, or tap "Select all"
5. Tap "Import" > "Yes"

Exporting Contacts to the SD Card:

1. From the "Contacts" app, press the "Menu" button
2. Tap "Import / Export" > "Export to SD card"
3. Choose the contacts that you wish to move. Alternatively, tap "Select all"
4. Tap "Export" > "Yes"
5. Type in a file name and press "OK"

Importing Contacts from the Internal Storage:

1. Launch the "Contacts" app and press "Menu"
2. Tap "Import / Export" > "Import from storage"
3. Select "Phone" or "Google"
4. Choose the desired contacts, or press "Select all"
5. Tap "Import" > "Yes"

Exporting Contacts to Internal Storage:

1. From the "Contacts" app, press "Menu"
2. Tap "Import / Export" > "Export to storage"
3. Mark the desired contacts, or tap "Select all"
4. Tap "Export" > "Yes"
5. Enter the desired name for the file and tap "OK"

Managing Groups

Creating a New Caller Group:

1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Contacts"
2. Access the "Groups" tab
3. Press the "Menu" button and tap "New group"
4. Type in the group's name
5. Select a group ringtone if desired
6. Tap "Save"

Adding Contacts to an Existing Group:

1. From the "Contacts" application, access the "Groups" tab
2. Choose the group that you wish to add contacts to
3. Press "Menu" and tap "Add member"
4. Select the contacts that you wish to add
5. Tap "Add"
