Clearing the Application Cache / Data:

NOTE: In case one of your applications isn't running properly, then you can try fixing these problems by clearing the application's cache or data. WARNING! Clearing an application's data will result in the deletion of all personal data stored within the app, including credit card and personal information, saved games, profiles etc. As such, it's recommended that you first clear the application's cache and see if that helps. To clear the cache / data of an app:

    1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Scroll to "Device" and tap "Apps"
    4. Tap and hold the desired application
    5. Tap "Clear cache"
    6. If clearing the cache hasn't solved the issues, tap "Clear data" > "OK"

NOTE: you can also clear the cache for all applications at once. To do so, go to "Settings" > "Storage" > "Cached data" > "OK"

    Clearing the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone's performance is low, if the device crashes, freezes etc. then chances are that you're considering applying a factory reset. However, as you might already know, a factory reset will result in the deletion of all personal data stored on the device's internal memory, and it will return the phone's settings to factory values. As such, it's recommended that you first try solving these issues by clearing the phone's cache. By doing so, you won't lose any personal data.

    1. Turn off the smartphone
    2. With the device shut down, press and hold the "Volume Up", "Home" and "Power" keys
    3. After the smartphone vibrates once, release the "Power" key but keep pressing "Volume Up" and "Home"
    4. At the "Android System Recovery" screen, release all hardware buttons
    5. From the recovery menu, press "Volume down" to navigate to and highlight "wipe cache partition"
    6. Press "Power" to select the option
    7. After the cache partition has been wiped, a "Reboot system now" message / option will be highlighted
    8. Press "Power" to reboot your smartphone

NOTE: assuming that clearing the cache hasn't solved the problems with your phone, you may want to factory reset it and see if that helps. To learn how you can reset your LG G3, follow this link for a full guide.

    Safe Mode Management

NOTE: A smartphone's "safe mode" can be a very helpful tool, allowing you to remove malicious third party applications that would otherwise prevent you from doing so while running. In safe mode, all third party applications are disabled.

Entering Safe Mode and Removing an App:

    1. Turn off your smartphone
    2. Press and hold the "Power" button
    3. At the splash screen, release the "Power" key but immediately press "Volume Down" instead
    4. Keep pressing the volume key until the phone finishes rebooting
    5. Once it reboots, the smartphone should display the "Safe mode" message in the lower-left corner
    6. To uninstall an app, tap "Apps"
    7. Go to "Settings" and scroll to "Applications"
    8. Tap "Application manager" and go to the "Downloaded" screen
    9. Select the malicious app and tap "Uninstall"
    10. Press "OK" to confirm
