How-to: LG K7: Manage Emergency Alerts and Device Lock Settings

Enable / Disable Emergency Alerts:

1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
2. Open “Messaging” and tap “Menu”
3. Go to “Settings” > “General settings”
4. Under “Other”, tap “Emergency alerts”
5. Clear or check the boxes associated with “AMBER alerts”, “Imminent severe alerts” and / or “Imminent extreme alerts”

NOTE: Presidential alerts are turned on by default and cannot be turned off.

Turn On Device Lock:

1. Open the apps drawer
2. Go to the “Settings” menu
3. If necessary, tap “Menu” and switch to “List view”
4. Under “Device”, tap “Lock screen” > “Select screen lock"
5. Choose a screen lock option, such as “Password”, “Pattern”, “Swipe”, “PIN” etc.

Change Lock Screen Settings:

1. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
2. If necessary, tap “Menu” and select “List view”
3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Lock screen”
4. Tap “Select screen lock”
5. Tap a screen lock option
6. Enter the current lock screen password / PIN etc.
7. Tap “Continue” and enter the new password / PIN etc.
8. Tap “Continue” > “OK”

Turn Off Device Lock:

1. Access the “Settings” menu
2. Tap “Lock screen” under “Device”
3. Select “None”
4. Enter your current password / PIN to confirm
