Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Swipe the Notification bar down from the home screen
- Tap Settings in the top-right corner
- Go to the General tab
- Scroll to Phone management and tap Battery & power saving
- Tap the Power saver switch and set it to ON
- Enable or disable the available battery saver options, and select a battery level at which the mode should turn on automatically
Adjust Video Quality in Games:
- Go to Settings
- Access the General tab and scroll to Phone Management
- Tap Battery & Power saving
- Set the Game optimizer slider to OFF
Disable Smart Settings Unused At Home:
- On the home screen, swipe the Notification bar down
- Open Settings
- Access the General tab and scroll to Smart functions
- Tap Smart settings and slide the toggle to OFF
Lower Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open Settings
- Access the Display tab
- Under Basic Settings, tap Brightness
- Drag the Brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower value such as 15 seconds
Disable Connectivity When Unused:
NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Go to the Networks tab
- Scroll to Connectivity and tap Tethering
- Tap Mobile Hotspot and set the toggle OFF
- Go back to Settings and tap the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switches OFF
- From the General tab, scroll to Personal and tap Location (GSP)
- Tap Mode and select Battery saving (networks only)
Use 2G Connectivity:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you dont have access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to a 2G network. To restrict the phone to 2G connectivity:
- Open Settings
- Go to the Networks tab
- Scroll to Connectivity and tap More
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Select GSM only
Disable Background Data:
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Tap Settings and access the Networks tab
- Tap Mobile data > Menu
- Turn on Restrict background data
- Tap OK
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background tasks and processes, and thus, by disabling or uninstalling unused third party apps, you might be able to improve battery life in the long run.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Tap Settings
- Go to the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management
- Tap Apps and access the Downloaded tab
- Tap and hold the desired app
- To disable the app, tap Force stop / Disable
- To remove the app from the phone, tap Uninstall
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps / accounts to synchronize less data / less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings and access the General tab
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Accounts & sync
- Turn off Auto-sync data
- Select an app under Accounts and change the available sync settings (repeat for different apps / accounts etc.)
