Back Up App Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Enable “Back up my data”

Back Up Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Tap “LG Backup” > “Backup & restore”
  5. Tap “Back up data” and make sure “LG Cloud” is enabled
  6. If prompted, log in with your LG Account
  7. Select “Personal data” and deselect all the other options
  8. Expand the “Personal data” option and make sure “Contacts” is enabled
  9. Tap “Start” to begin the backup
  10. Once the backup is complete, tap “Done”

Back Up Contacts on the SD Card:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. From the “General” tab, tap “Backup & reset”
  3. Tap “LG Backup” > “Backup & restore”
  4. Tap “Back up data” and enable “SD Card”
  5. Select the items you want to back up and tap “Start”
  6. After the process is complete, tap “Done”

Back Up Media Files on the Phone:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. From the “General” tab, tap “Backup & reset”
  3. Tap “LG Backup”
  4. Tap “Backup & restore”
  5. Select “Media data” and deselect the non-media options
  6. Expand the “Media data” folder and select the media files you want to back up
  7. Tap “Start” and wait for the process to complete
  8. Tap “Done”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the LG V20 to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media sync (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Use the Explorer to locate the desired media files, or “.sbf” backup files on the phone storage
  5. Copy the desired files and transfer them in your backup location on the computer
  6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
