Back Up Application Data:

  1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Access the “General” tab and tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Enable “Back up my data”

Back Up Contacts on the SD Card:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Go to “LG Backup” > “Backup & restore”
  5. Tap “Back up data” and select “SD Card”
  6. Choose the contacts you want to back up and tap “Start”
  7. When prompted with “Backup completed”, tap “Done”

Back Up Contacts on an LG Account:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. If necessary, go to the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & reset” > “LG Backup”
  4. Tap “Backup & restore” > “Back up data”
  5. Tap “LG Cloud”
  6. Sign in with your LG account
  7. Turn on “Personal data” and disable all the other options
  8. Expand the “Personal data” directory and ensure “Contacts” is checked
  9. Tap “Start” and when prompted with “Backup completed”, tap “Done”

Back Up Media Files on Your Phone:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Tap “Backup & reset” in the “General” tab
  3. Tap “LG Backup” > “Backup & Restore”
  4. Turn on “Media data” and disable the option
  5. Tap “Start”
  6. At the “Backup completed” prompt, tap “Done”

Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the LG X Max to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. On the computer, launch the File Explorer and locate the media files on the phone
  4. Copy the media files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
  5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray
  6. You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
