Clear App Cache / Data:
NOTE: In case one of your applications freezes, crashes, takes up too much storage inexplicably or just doesnt work as intended, you can try fixing these problems by clearing the apps cache / data.
WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all personal information stored within the app will be deleted, including save files, settings, profiles, high scores, login and credit card information etc. To avoid losing personal data, clear ONLY the cache.
- Open Settings
- Go to the General tab and tap Apps
- Swipe to All and select the desired app
- Tap Clear cache
- If necessary, tap Clear data > Yes (read WARNING above)
Clear the Cache Partition:
NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesnt work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phones cache partition. This can yield results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data on the phones internal memory.
- Launch Settings
- Access the General tab
- Tap Storage and wait for the phone to calculate data
- Tap Cached data > Yes to clear the cache
NOTE: If clearing the cache didnt help, you can visit this thread for instructions on how to factory reset your device.
Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:
NOTE: In case you have installed a third party application that causes issues and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to remove the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled.
- Press and hold Power while viewing the home screen
- From the pop-up menu, press and hold Power off
- Tap OK at the Safe Mode prompt
- Wait for the phone to restart. Once done, a Safe Mode label should be visible in the lower-left area of the home screen
- To remove an application, first open Settings
- Go to the General tab and access Apps
- Make sure All is checked, and then select the desired application and tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit Safe Mode, reboot your device as you normally would, by pressing and holding Power and selecting Power off and restart
