Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: In case one of your applications doesn’t work as intended, takes up too much storage inexplicably etc. you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache and/or data.

WARNING! By clearing an app’s data, all personal data stored within the application will be deleted. This includes save files, profiles, settings, credit card and login information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. If necessary, go to the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Apps”
  4. Access “All” and select the desired application
  5. Tap “Clear cache”
  6. If clearing the app’s cache didn’t help, you can tap “Clear data” > “Yes” (read WARNING above)

Wipe the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably etc. and you’re considering factory resetting the device, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by wiping the phone’s cache partition. This can lead to results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data stored on the phone’s internal memory.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Storage” and wait for the phone to finish calculating the data
  4. Tap “Cached data” > “Yes” to wipe the cache

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can visit this thread for a guide on how to instead factory reset the LG K3.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an Application:

NOTE: In case you have installed a third party app that causes problems and prevents you from uninstalling it, you can remove the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled.

  1. Press and hold “Power” while viewing the home screen
  2. At the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. Tap “OK” at the “Restart in Safe Mode” prompt
  4. After the phone restarts, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be shown in the lower-left area of the home screen
  5. Open “Settings” and access the “General” tab
  6. Tap “Apps” and swipe to “Downloaded”
  7. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  8. Once you have removed the application, you can exit Safe Mode by restarting the phone as you would do normally
