Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: In case one of your applications doesnt work as intended, takes up too much storage inexplicably etc. you can try fixing these issues by clearing the apps cache and/or data.
WARNING! By clearing an apps data, all personal data stored within the application will be deleted. This includes save files, profiles, settings, credit card and login information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the apps cache.
- Launch Settings
- If necessary, go to the General tab
- Tap Apps
- Access All and select the desired application
- Tap Clear cache
- If clearing the apps cache didnt help, you can tap Clear data > Yes (read WARNING above)
Wipe the Cache Partition:
NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably etc. and youre considering factory resetting the device, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by wiping the phones cache partition. This can lead to results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data stored on the phones internal memory.
- Launch Settings
- Access the General tab
- Tap Storage and wait for the phone to finish calculating the data
- Tap Cached data > Yes to wipe the cache
NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didnt help, you can visit this thread for a guide on how to instead factory reset the LG K3.
Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an Application:
NOTE: In case you have installed a third party app that causes problems and prevents you from uninstalling it, you can remove the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled.
- Press and hold Power while viewing the home screen
- At the power management pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- Tap OK at the Restart in Safe Mode prompt
- After the phone restarts, a Safe Mode watermark should be shown in the lower-left area of the home screen
- Open Settings and access the General tab
- Tap Apps and swipe to Downloaded
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall > OK
- Once you have removed the application, you can exit Safe Mode by restarting the phone as you would do normally
