Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your applications doesn’t work as intended or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache and/or data.

WARNING! By clearing the app’s cache, all personal data stored within the app will be deleted. This includes save files, settings, user profiles, login and credit card information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the application’s cache.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access the “General” tab if necessary
  3. Go to “Apps” > “All”
  4. Select the desired app and tap “Clear cache”
  5. If clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “Yes” to confirm (read WARNING above)

Clear the Cache Partition:

NOTE: In case your phone crashes, freezes or runs out of storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can lead to similar results as a factory reset without losing any personal data.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Storage” and wait for the phone to finish calculating data
  4. Review the amount of cache and tap “Cached data” > “Yes”

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t solve the issues and you want to reset the phone, you can visit this thread for instructions.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: In case you’ve installed an application that causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled.

  1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
  2. From the power management window, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. At the “Restart in Safe Mode”, tap “OK”
  4. Wait for the device to reboot. NOTE: once the device restarts, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower-left area on the home screen
  5. To remove an application, first open “Settings”
  6. Then, access the “General” tab if necessary
  7. Tap “Apps” and swipe to “Downloaded”
  8. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall”
  9. Tap “OK” to confirm
  10. Once done, exit Safe Mode by restarting your phone as you would do normally
