Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: If one of your applications doesnt work as intended or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the apps cache and/or data.
WARNING! By clearing the apps cache, all personal data stored within the app will be deleted. This includes save files, settings, user profiles, login and credit card information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the applications cache.
- Launch Settings
- Access the General tab if necessary
- Go to Apps > All
- Select the desired app and tap Clear cache
- If clearing the cache didnt help, tap Clear data > Yes to confirm (read WARNING above)
Clear the Cache Partition:
NOTE: In case your phone crashes, freezes or runs out of storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phones cache partition. This can lead to similar results as a factory reset without losing any personal data.
- Launch Settings
- Access the General tab
- Tap Storage and wait for the phone to finish calculating data
- Review the amount of cache and tap Cached data > Yes
NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didnt solve the issues and you want to reset the phone, you can visit this thread for instructions.
Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:
NOTE: In case youve installed an application that causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled.
- Press and hold Power on the home screen
- From the power management window, tap and hold Power off
- At the Restart in Safe Mode, tap OK
- Wait for the device to reboot. NOTE: once the device restarts, a Safe Mode watermark should be visible in the lower-left area on the home screen
- To remove an application, first open Settings
- Then, access the General tab if necessary
- Tap Apps and swipe to Downloaded
- Select the desired app and tap Uninstall
- Tap OK to confirm
- Once done, exit Safe Mode by restarting your phone as you would do normally
