Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Launch Settings
- If necessary, switch to the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management
- Tap Battery saver and enable the option
- Select a battery percentage at which the mode enables automatically
Disable Connectivity Features When Unused:
NOTE: By turning off the phones connectivity features when they are not in use (such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot) you can improve battery life in the long run.
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- Launch Settings
- Access the Network tab and scroll to Connectivity
- Tap Tethering > Mobile hotspot and disable the feature
- Return to Settings and set the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi switches OFF
- Scroll to Personal and tap Location
- Tap Mode and enable Battery saving (Networks only)
Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:
NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open Settings
- If necessary, go to the Networks tab
- Scroll to Connectivity and tap More
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Enable GSM only
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Launch Settings
- If necessary, go to the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management
- Enable Battery saver and select a battery percentage at which the mode enables automatically
Adjust Video Quality in Games:
- Open Settings
- In the General tab, scroll to Phone Management
- Tap Battery & Power saving
- Turn off Game optimizer
Disable Background Data:
- Open Settings
- Access the Networks tab
- Tap Mobile data > Menu and enable Restrict background data
- Tap OK to confirm
Disable Smart Settings Unused at Home:
- Open Settings
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Smart functions and tap Smart settings
- Turn the feature OFF
Reduce Sync:
NOTE: By changing your accounts sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open Settings
- Access the General tab
- Scroll to Personal and access Accounts & Sync
- Optionally, disable auto-sync data
- Scroll to Accounts and select an account to change its sync settings and reduce sync
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. As such, battery life can be improved in the long run by disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone.
- Open Settings
- If necessary, access the General tab
- Scroll to Phone Management and tap Apps
- Access Downloaded
- Tap and hold the desired application
- Tap Disable / Force Stop to turn the app OFF
- To remove the app, tap Uninstall
