WARNING! When you factory reset your device, all data located on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted, including apps, downloaded content, ringtones, media files, contacts etc. Furthermore, all settings will be restored to factory values, but data stored on the SIM and SD cards will not be affected.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. If necessary, access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Turn “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore” On or Off
  5. Tap “Backup account” and select or create an existing Google account
  6. Tap “Factory data reset” when ready
  7. Optionally, choose to “Erase SD Card” as well
  8. When ready, tap “Reset phone” > “Next” > “Delete all” > “OK”

Factory Reset via Android Recovery:

NOTE: If you are unable to reset your device via Settings, alternatively you can try resetting the handset from the Android Recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing a combination of button presses.

  1. Ensure the phone is powered off
  2. Next, press and hold “Volume down” and “Power” simultaneously
  3. At the “LG” logo, quickly release and re-hold “Power”
  4. At the “Factory data reset” screen, release both buttons
  5. Press “Volume down” to highlight “Yes”, and press “Power” to select the option
  6. At the “Erase all user data and restore default settings” prompt, highlight “Yes” and press “Power”

Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: Once you factory reset your phone, it’s recommended to verify if new software updates are available for download. To do this:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. If necessary, access the “General” tab
  3. Tap “About phone” > “Software info”
  4. Check if a new update is available, and if applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update. NOTE: The update process requires at least one reboot
