Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: If one of your apps doesnt work as intended, crashes, freezes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try solving these problems by clearing the apps cache and/or data.
WARNING! When you clear an apps data, all your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including login and credit card information, save files, user profiles, settings etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the apps cache.
- Open Settings
- Go to the General tab
- Tap Apps and go to All
- Select the desired app and tap Clear cache
- If clearing the cache didnt fix the problems, tap Clear data
- Tap Yes to confirm (check WARNING above)
Clear the Phones Cache Partition:
NOTE: In case your phone crashes, freezes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesnt work as intended and youre considering factory resetting it, alternatively you can try solving these issues by clearing the phones cache partition. This can yield results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data on the phones internal memory.
- Open Settings
- Access the General tab and tap Storage
- Wait for the phone to finish calculating data
- When done, tap Cached data > Yes to confirm and clear the cache partition
NOTE: If clearing the phones cache partition didnt help, you can visit this thread for instructions on how to factory reset the phone instead.
Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:
NOTE: If you have installed a third party applications preventing you from removing them, you should be able to uninstall the apps from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled by default.
- On the home screen, press and hold Power
- From the Power Management pop-up, tap and hold Power Off
- When prompted to Restart in Safe Mode, tap OK. NOTE: Once the phone finishes rebooting, it should display a Safe Mode watermark in the lower area of the home screen
- Once in Safe Mode, first open Settings
- Access the General tab if necessary and tap Apps
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the desired application
- Tap Uninstall > OK to confirm
- Once done, you can exit Safe Mode by rebooting your device normally
