WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, all your personal data stored on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted, including media files, apps, contacts, downloaded content etc. In addition, all settings will be restored to factory values.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. If necessary, switch to “Tab view” and go to the “General” tab
  3. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Phone management”
  4. Select or clear the check boxes associated with “Automatic restore” and “Back up my data”
  5. Tap “Backup account” and sign in with, or create a backup account
  6. Tap “Factory data reset”
  7. Select whether you want to “Erase SD Card” as well
  8. When ready, tap “Reset phone”
  9. If your phone is protected by a PIN / password, enter it and tap “OK”
  10. Tap “Delete all” > “Reset”

Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: In case your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting it, alternatively you can reset the device from the Android recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing the following steps:

  1. Ensure the phone is powered off
  2. Then, press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” simultaneously
  3. At the “LG logo” quickly release and re-hold the “Power” button
  4. At the “Factory data reset” screen, release all buttons
  5. Press “Volume down” repeatedly to highlight “Yes”
  6. Press “Power” to confirm
  7. When prompted with “Erase all user data and restore default settings”, highlight “Yes” and press “Power”
