WARNING! When you factory reset your device, all your personal data stored on the phones internal memory will be deleted, including applications, downloaded content, contacts, media files and ringtones etc. Additionally, all settings will be restored to factory values, however data located on the SIM and SD cards will not be affected.

Factory Reset via Settings:
- Launch Settings
- If necessary, switch to Tab view
- Access the General tab
- Tap Backup & reset under Phone management
- Clear or select the tick boxes associated with Back up my data and Automatic restore
- Tap Backup account and register or create a backup account
- Tap Factory data reset and choose whether you wish to Erase SD Card as well
- When ready, tap Reset phone
- In case your device is lock-screen protected, enter your PIN / password to proceed
- When ready, tap Delete all > Reset
Factory Reset via Recovery:
NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise it prevents you from resetting it via Settings, alternatively you can try resetting the phone from Android Recovery. To access Recovery:
- First turn the phone Off if necessary
- Press and hold Power and Volume down at the same time
- When the LG logo appears, quickly release and re-hold the Power button
- At the Factory data reset screen, release all buttons
- Press Volume down repeatedly to highlight Yes
- Press Power to confirm
- At the Erase all user data and restore default settings prompt, highlight Yes and press Power
