Clear An App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If an app freezes, crashes, doesn’t work as intended or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal information stored within the app will be deleted, including settings, save files, user profiles, login and credit card information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear only the app’s cache.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Phone management”
  3. Go to the “General” tab
  4. Tap “Apps” and select the desired application
  5. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  6. In case clearing the cache didn’t solve the issue, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (check WARNING above)

Clear the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting it, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by clearing the cache partition. This can have results similar to a factory reset without losing personal data.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to the “General” tab
  3. Scroll to “Phone management”
  4. Tap “Storage” > “Internal storage”
  5. Wait for the phone to finish calculating the data
  6. Tap “Cached data” > “Clear”

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the phone instead.

  5. To remove an app, first go to “Settings”
  6. If necessary, switch to the “General” tab
  7. Go to “Phone management” and tap “Apps”
  8. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  9. Once the app has been uninstalled, exit Safe Mode by pressing and holding “Power” and rebooting your device as you would do normally
