Transfer Audio Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the audio files on the PC
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” and “Notifications” directories
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Change the General Ringtone:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Device”
  3. Tap “Sound” > “Ringtone”
  4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”

Change a Specific Contact’s Ringtone:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set for contacts located on the SIM card or the device’s internal memory.

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Select the desired contact
  3. Tap “Edit” > “More” > “Ringtone”
  4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK”

Change Incoming Email Alert Sounds:

  1. Launch “Email”
  2. Tap “Menu’ > “Settings”
  3. Go to “Account & Sync”
  4. Select the desired email account and enable “New Emails”
  5. Access “Notification sound” and select the desired ringtone
  6. Optionally, enable or disable “Vibrate”

Change Emergency Alert Settings:

  1. Open “Messages”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
  3. Go to “Advanced settings”
  4. Tap “More” > “Emergency alerts”
  5. Under “Receive alerts” enable or disable “Imminent severe alerts” “Imminent extreme alerts” and “AMBER alerts”
  6. Under “Sound and vibrate” enable or disable “Alert sound” and “Alert vibration”
