Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your applications doesn’t work as intended, crashes, freezes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache/data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored in the app, including user profiles, login information, save files, settings etc. will be deleted. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the cache.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “General” if necessary and go to “Apps”
  3. Select the desired app and tap “Storage”
  4. Tap “Clear cache”
  5. If clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (check the WARNING above)

Clear the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your device crashes, freezes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try solving these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can lead to results similar to a factory reset without losing personal data from the phone.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Phone Management”
  3. Go to “Storage” > “Internal storage”
  4. Wait for the phone to finish calculating the data
  5. Tap “Cached data” > “Clear”

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the phone instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: If you have installed a third-party app that causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode. In this mode, all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
  2. From the power management pop-up tap and hold “Power Off”
  3. At the “Reboot in Safe Mode” prompt tap “OK”
  4. Once the phone reboots, a Safe Mode watermark should be shown in the lower area of the home screen
  5. To remove an app, first open “Settings” and then access “Apps”
  6. Go to “All apps” and select the desired application
  7. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  8. To exit Safe Mode, simply reboot your device normally
