Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your applications doesn’t work as intended, it crashes, freezes, or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these problems by clearing the app’s cache/data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored in the app will be deleted, including save files and settings, login information, user profiles etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “General” if necessary
  3. Go to “Apps”
  4. Select the desired app and go to “Storage”
  5. Tap “Clear cache”
  6. If clearing the cache didn’t solve the problems, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (check the warning above)

Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting it, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can lead to results similar to a factory reset without losing personal data on the phone.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Phone Management”
  3. Tap “Storage” > “Internal storage”
  4. Wait for the phone to finish calculating the data then tap “Cached data”
  5. Tap “Clear”

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t fix the problems, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the phone instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an Application:

  1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
  2. From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
  3. At the “Reboot in Safe Mode” prompt tap “OK”. Once the phone finishes rebooting, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
  4. To uninstall an app, first open “Settings”
  5. Access “Apps” and if necessary, switch to “All apps”
  6. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  7. To exit Safe Mode, reboot your phone normally
