WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, your personal data located on the device’s internal memory will be deleted, including media files and ringtones, downloaded content, contacts, apps etc. In addition all settings will be restored to factory values, however data located on the SIM and SD storage won’t be affected.

Factory Reset via Settings:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Phone Management”
  3. Tap “Backup & Reset”
  4. Tick or clear the boxes associated with “Automatic restore” and “Back up my data”
  5. Tap “Backup account”
  6. Select the desired account and tap “Factory data reset”
  7. Optionally, you can select whether to “Erase SD card” as well
  8. If your device is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password
  9. Tap “Delete all” > “Reset”

Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or prevents you from resetting it using the method above, you can try resetting the phone from Android Recovery as follows:

  1. Turn the phone off
  2. Then press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
  3. At the LG screen, quickly press and release “Power”
  4. At the “Factory data” reset screen release the “Power” and “Volume buttons
  5. To navigate the menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly and highlight “Yes”
  6. Press “Power” to select the highlight
  7. At the “Erase all user data and restore default settings” prompt, highlight “Yes”
  8. Press “Power” one last time to confirm
