WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, your personal data located on the devices internal memory will be deleted, including media files and ringtones, downloaded content, contacts, apps etc. In addition all settings will be restored to factory values, however data located on the SIM and SD storage wont be affected.
NOTE: Before your reset the phone, you can check this thread for a guide on how to back up data, and this thread for a guide on restoring data.
Factory Reset via Settings:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Phone Management
- Tap Backup & Reset
- Tick or clear the boxes associated with Automatic restore and Back up my data
- Tap Backup account
- Select the desired account and tap Factory data reset
- Optionally, you can select whether to Erase SD card as well
- If your device is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password
- Tap Delete all > Reset
Factory Reset via Recovery:
NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or prevents you from resetting it using the method above, you can try resetting the phone from Android Recovery as follows:
- Turn the phone off
- Then press and hold Power and Volume down at the same time
- At the LG screen, quickly press and release Power
- At the Factory data reset screen release the Power and Volume buttons
- To navigate the menu, press Volume down repeatedly and highlight Yes
- Press Power to select the highlight
- At the Erase all user data and restore default settings prompt, highlight Yes
- Press Power one last time to confirm
