Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your applications doesn’t work as intended, freezes, crashes, takes up too much storage inexplicably etc. you can try fixing this issue by clearing the app cache/data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including save files, personalized settings, user profiles etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “General”
  3. Tap “Apps” and select the desired app
  4. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
  5. If clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK”

Wipe the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting it, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have results similar to factory resetting the phone but without the loss of personal data from the phone.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Access “Phone Management”
  3. Tap “Storage” > “Internal storage”
  4. Once the phone finishes calculating the data, tap “Cached data” > “Clear”

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t solve the issues, check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the device.

  1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
  2. From the Power Management pop-up tap and hold “Power off”
  3. When prompted to “Reboot to Safe Mode” tap “OK”
  4. Once the phone finishes rebooting, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
  5. To uninstall an app, first open “Settings”
  6. Go to “Apps’ and switch to “All apps’ if necessary
  7. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  8. After the process is done, you can exit Safe Mode by rebooting the phone as you would do normally
