I heard that the battery life on this model sucks. Is this true? My bro is about to get one, but he isn't sure if he wants it.

I agree
Unfortunately I have the c333, which has the same reputation. I bought it used, and found that I had to 'wiggle' the AC connector to get it to charge, and it would complete a charge in 30 mins, giving me about 102 seconds talk time. I later found out that the AC connector on the baord was broken off.
Good news is, that after the repairs, the phone is perfect! But I also have heard that the c332 is no good. Motorola did much much better with the c350, but where I live it is only available in a Pay go service.

There was a recall on all old versions of the C33x series. The newest firmware solves this problem. If you experience less-than-acceptable battery life, take it back to where you got it for a(n) exchange/upgrade of firmware.
