I have a question concerning SIM cards. Wife and I both have had V60's for the last two years. I am happy with the phone as well as the service and have no desire to switch either one. However, the antenna snapped off on mine and since the wife always wants the latest and greatest can I just switch my SIM card into her phone and keep my number and billing and all settings and then just go and get her a new phone and contract? Would I need to contact the service provider?

Thanks for the replies in advance.

so it does work? you just switch the SIM cards? because I have an old cingular phone i REALLY like but my services w/ cingular are canceled and i have sprint now. but i dont like my sprint phone it sucks i like my cingular one better. so i can just switch the sprint one into my cingular phone? and it'll work fine? would i still have my cingular # or would i have the sprint #?

Yep pop your sim card out and then pop it into the other phone. I have 3 different phones that i swap my card in and out of... Just make sure your important numbers are on the Sim card. Otherwise you may go looking for a number and not find it in whatever phone your using at that time... BTW your phone service needs to be GSM . Sprint and Verizon DO NOT work off that technology. no swappig between Verizion or Sprint only T mobile and Cingular

No, it wont work. Sprint uses CDMA and doesn't use SIM cards. They have an ESN # built into the phone that you cannot change. Your old Cingular phone is GSM and will have a sim card. If you like the phone and want to reactivate without cingular you will have to go to another GSM carrier, such as Tmobile and unluck your old phone.

If you want to change your sprint phone and keep your plan you will need to get a Sprint compatable CDMA phone and do an ESN swap.
