Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Moto G5 to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media Device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
  4. Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” / “Alarms” folder(s)
  5. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Change the General Ringtone:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound & Notification”
  4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm
  5. Optionally, select to turn “Also vibrate for calls” ON or OFF

Change a Specific Contact’s Ringtone:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Tap and hold the contact you wish to customize
  3. Tap “Edit” > “Menu”
  4. Tap “Set ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
  5. Press “OK” to confirm

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
  2. Tap “Sound & Notification”
  3. Tap “Default notification ringtone”
  4. Choose the desired notification sound
  5. Tap “OK” to confirm
