    Hi folks,
This my first post here, I just registered.

The up coming nextel phone don't look too promissing. They lack real functionality, for instance Nextel is always a few years behind the rest of the pack. They're just coming with camera phones, they lacked iden/gsm phone for a longtime since the i2000 which could have been used as weapon if needed since it was too big and heavy. They're mostly a corporate oriented carrier since most companies use their "direct connect" feature. therefore not consumer oriented.

I wished Nextel would commission Palmone to make Treo 600 or the newer "ace" for nextel. This way not only we will have the option of a palm pilot plus a iden/gsm phone it would be a perfect phone far better tha the up coming i930 which is ppc based and doesn't have the functionality of a palm pilot ie: stylus, e-reader and so on.
For some reason the Blackberry doesn't cut it. It's too big to be a phone, battery life sucks big time, and doesn't come with all the after market softwares that palm offers, and not a world phone.

I don't know why Nextel keep commissioning Motorola to make their phones, Have you looked at the new upcoming Nokia 6260 smartphone it looks great, slim and all.
I guess I just wanted to vent out, any comments anyone?
    Cheers.

motorola built the push to talk iden network. Nextel is just a carrier.

The blackberry is hot on Nextel because it doesn't have a stylus. I do not like the blackberry at all... I use the pocket pc phone edition on t-mobile but, must phone users do not wish to use a stylus. They need the keyboard for emails.

I agree with your though quality of the products and features would probably get a whole lot better if it were open to competition.

I wonder why other companies (ie: Palmone, Nokia) don't offer nextel their products? I don't exactly know how is works, but I wished we had more options on other than Motorola phones.
