I plan on switching from Sprint 2 Nextel at the end of this month and I wanna know what phone is the best out. My friend wanted 2 sell me his i860 but when I saw the i870 I said no thanks. I been hearing alot about the i930 too. Or should I just stay with Sprint?

Also are there some phones coming in the near future that will blow these out the water?

Edit:It would also be good if I can make my own ringtones and perferably mp3 format.

The i930 is good for business people... The i870 is great for the average joe. The i930 runs windows smart phone and does a lot with email, word, excel, syncs all your contacts with outlook, and will work internationally. The i870 works on the tradional Iden platform and does everything that normal nextel's do plus the mp3 player and an expansion card for more storage of your pics and videos. The i870 has a camera that is 3x better than any other Nextel phone currently on the market. The i930 is larger and heavier. It's battery life is also less than the i870 even though it has a higher capacity battery (maybe where some of the extra weight comes from).. But the i930 has a ton of more things to add to it because it it smart phone...

I like my i836 very much. It's lightweight and it looks and feels amazing. While it's not the most advanced phone in the lineup, it's compact and easy to carry around. The orange CID light is ugly, but you can get that modded to another color.

Just switched from Sprint to Nextel, got three I870 phones for the family. The switch over went real smooth. I did everything by calling customer service and ordering. The phones arrived by Fedex. The next morning, the Sprint phones shut off, and the Nextel phones worked. Amazing.

The Nextel plans are more expensive. Free incoming is what most people go with, even if it starts at $49.95 a person. Data plan option is expensive, and the arcade is dumb, we're going to drop those. So far, the I870 is great. Comes with a card reader that hooks up to the computer. You can copy MP3s and images from your computer to the card.

I ordered the special headset and data cable from Mighty and it will arrive in a couple days. So I'll give a thumbs up to the I870. I'll be ordering a 512mb transflash card next, but right now they're out of stock.

I got the data cable and headset from Mighty and they work great. I'll probably order two more headsets once he gets more in stock. Seems to be a hot item, so is the TransFlash memory. SanDisk is backordered on everything.
