hey was up guys this is pnyce from jersey a sprint Nextel employee just wanted to announce to everyone that dosent know that sprint has a new insurance company for the phones. i really dont remenber the name they gave us but the bottom line is that is new prices and a new deductible.
is gonna be $6.00 ( These covers you regualr lost and stolen plus service and repair) so is like the combined into one price. So u take the best of both.
And the your deductible will be $50 no matter what phone is it. For a example if u had an i265 then u will pay $50 or if u had an i930u will pay $50 for a replacement.
This is already in the stores. However for is only for new customers or customers that recently upgraded..
IF u had the old insurance and your nextel was lost or stolen you will have to pa $100 deductible.. Sry guys.
if any question feel free to ask.. n i will get the name of the new insurance company.. is sumtin with an a or so i cant remenber now...lol
Remeneber you can only get Insurance When u first get the phone or when u jsut upgraded. or when you change a handset.. after that time you have at most 30 days. If u dont get it then you wont be able to put insurance on the account.

Re: New Sprint Nextel Insurance price and deductible!!!
Wow, $6 a month? That's pretty steep.
Cingular offers insurance for $3.99/mo (soon to be $4.99 come November) and a $50 deductible (doesn't matter what phone it is).

Re: New Sprint Nextel Insurance price and deductible!!!
If this is true, then this is totally bogus and I will be taking the insurance off of my plan, b/c it sounds like a bad deal, especially if you have to pay a $50.00 deductable.

Re: New Sprint Nextel Insurance price and deductible!!!
wow thats a good deal. i remember when i had nextel i paid i think it was 5$ for lost and stolen and 3 or 4$ for the repair and it was 100$ deductible. i had nextel for 2 and a half years paying all that for insurance and never lost my phone; repaired it once. i wish they had that deal back then.

Re: New Sprint Nextel Insurance price and deductible!!!
Insurance on nextel is really usefull, I always outsmart insurance, see you pay $6 every month (by the way it went up to $7 on new customers) if you have it for 2 years its a total of $144 and if you claim it, its an additional $50 deductible. So what I do is claim my insurance in 2 or 3 months pay the $50 then i cancel the insurance, except the service and repair which is only $3, that way I have a $50 spare phone at home and dont have to worry about loosing my activated phone.
With the $3 repair insurance, stores repair, fix, or even swap the phone if anything wrong with it.

Re: New Sprint Nextel Insurance price and deductible!!!
also, unlike the previous insurance provider, Signal, Asurion will actually approve claims.
The service/repair part is good stuff, even on its own.

Re: New Sprint Nextel Insurance price and deductible!!!
That coverage is done by Asurion. And, yes, you can only put coverage on a phone in good working condition for the first 30 days after origonal activation. If the phone is lost/stolen/damaged by accident or moisture, there is a non-refundable deductable of $50, if the problem is mechanical/electrical and no damage by accident of mositure, the phone can be repaired or replaced for no charge at a qualified Sprint/Nextel dealer. If you look at this coverage as something for a new phone, much as a new car, and either reduce the coverage or discontinue it when the phone is a few months old, you do not run the risk of having your monthly coverage costs grow past the value of the replacement. The technology changes so fast that keeping coverage in effect for 2-3 years or more is counter-productive. Do the math. Now, this in 'insurance' coverage, so don't expect an upgrade when you make a claim as that is not what your coverage would allow. If you put coverage on a phone more than 30 days after activation or after it is lost or damaged, expect it to be removed and consider honesty a little more. The coverage is usually $7 per month for what is called tep, total equipment protection. Remember, the equipment replacement is covered by calling Asurion, and the equipment service and repair is covered by the Sprint/Nextel store with techs.

Re: New Sprint Nextel Insurance price and deductible!!!
Okay, so you claim a phone as lost and pay the deductable, then you have an extra phone? You don't see anything wrong with that? Like dishonesty for instance? Do you wonder why the cost of coverage goes up? When you claim a lost or damaged phone, if the phone is found or if damaged, you need to return the "lost" phone as it becomes property of the insurance company as "right of salvage." Try giving that "lost" phone to a friend and see what happens when that 'friend' tries to activate a stolen phone. Grow up. I can not believe you would actually post that and be proud of it.
