I really need a new cell phone very soon for the summer. I was planning on getting the N-Gage QD, since it has Java 2 and other neat features, but the pricks delayed it as a "marketing plan". So the Nokia 6600 looks like my next best bet, but is pretty pricey for me. I don't really want to spend 400+ dollars on a cell phone, although I will probably get a very long times use out of it.
My mom and dad don't live with me, but the have a plan with Cingular and said it would be easy to add another line for just 10 extra dollars a month. But then of course I want internet and messaging, which would be about $20 a month I suppose. I've read here that many people have had problems with Cingular, (that $3000 bill, yikes) but most people I know have Cingular have no problems with it.
You can comment on anything I said above, but I just have some questions in my head. I searched for the 6600 on ebay, and most of the bids that were selling well said they were "unlocked". What difference would unlocking make? I've also read that people have trouble connecting to GMS or GMRS to Cingular with the 6600... would that be a problem?
I'm just not too sure, and I also don't want to spend a bundle. Cingular doesn't sell the 6600, so I'm wondering if there's a way I can get a rebate or something for buying the phone...
