I am currently using a 6126 which I use via BT DUN to connect my HP IPAQ to the internet. Through ATT I have unlimited Internet/Medianet.

Although I like the phone it is time for me to upgrade and would like to keep away from purchasing a PDAphone and stay with the separate PDA/BT Phone setup. I am thinking of the 6650 phone (3G) if it would provide a faster connection for my IPAQ.

I assume I can use BT DUN to pair the IPAQ and 6650, but will it provide me with a faster connection - 3G? or will it still be dialup like speeds? and would I stiil be able use the same ATT unlimited Internet/Medianet plan?

If there is no speed advantage or if I have to switch over to a more expensive PDA plan to access 3g, I think I'll stick with the 6126 for a while longer.

Thanks for your comments in advance

if you want bluetooth tethering, web browsing and more... i can't think of anything else to recommend but the N95 8Gb... mate, it sure is pack with the muscle you need.

Re: Considering 6650 for BT tether to PDA

Thanks for the reply. But I'm asking specifically about the 6650. I choose not to have an all in one smartphone or PDA phone. My apps are all on the IPAQ and that is where they will stay, so a N95 will not do.

Will the HP IPAQ have faster internet access BT tethered to the 6650 w/3G than my current combo of a nonG 6126 and the IPAQ?

actually tthere are two types of 6650, one is the classic, the other is the fold one. both have 3G.

both have bluetooth. but the classic one has BT 1.1, the other has BT 2.0

the 6126 on the other hand has BT 2.0 but not 3G.

so if you have the 6650 fold, i would assume that it's faster when tethering and browsing the net.
