    Re: Nokia android phone?

    Read this:
Nokia Android rumors earn outright denial | Wireless - CNET News

To paraphrase the article (as of July 6th, 2009):
"There is no truth to this story (Nokia with Android OS) whatsoever," a statement from the company (Nokia) read. "It is a well-known fact that Symbian is our platform of choice for smartphones."

So, unless you plan on hacking your phone (which can be done, btw) to load Android, you are stuck with Symbian.
    Sorry

Nokia spend a lof money on Symbian. it's the leader of phone OS. there is no reason that Nokia will make Android phone.

OK, then. Will they 'open' Symbian to respond to Android?

    Re: Nokia android phone?

When you say "Open", do you mean make Symbian open source?

If that's the question, then no way would they do that. That would be like Microsoft making Windows open source. They've got too much money and investments tied into the program, and as much as making it open source would be cool, to the average user of Symbian, it would be pointless to them. 95% of the people out there using Symbian based phones just use it as is, and us 5% wouldn't make it worth open sourcing it to let us tinker around.

Would it be cool , oh yea. Do I ever see it happening, no so much.
