Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING: when clearing an apps data, all of your data stored within the app will be deleted, including login information, custom settings etc. To avoid this, clear ONLY the app cache:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen and launch Settings
- Go to Apps & Notifications
- Make sure you See All Apps
- Select the desired app
- Tap Storage > Clear cache
- If clearing the app cache didnt fix the issues, tap Clear data (check the Warning above)
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:
NOTE: Make sure youve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the device.
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to and access System
- Tap Reset options
- To reset network app settings, tap Reset app preferences > Reset apps
- To reset network settings, tap Reset WI-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth > Reset settings two times
- To factory reset the device, tap Erase all data (factory reset) > Reset phone > Erase everything
Uninstall Apps in Safe Mode:
NOTE: If third-party apps cause issues and prevent from being removed, you should be able to remove problematic apps while in Safe Mode, where third-party apps are disabled by default.
- On the home screen, press and hold Power
- From the power management pop-up, tap and hold Power off
- After the phone finishes rebooting, you should notice a Safe Mode watermark in the lower area of the home screen
- To remove an app, first open Settings then access Apps & Notifications
- Switch to All apps if necessary
- Select the desired app
- Tap Uninstall > OK
- To exit Safe Mode, reboot your phone normally
