Nokia 6100 animated background

I downloaded a couple of animated gif pictures and then uploaded them to my phone. When I view them in the gallery (through menu options) they are animated, but when I set them as background, they no longer are, am I doing something wrong?

I'm wondering about the same issue in my 3300......

you are doing well but 6100 can show only first frame of your gif-file

It can't have an animated background, sorry. But I do believe the 3100 can have animated screen savers.

why did Nokia make the option to put GIF files if we cant use them?

True. Nokia series 40 dissapointed me. I have 7210, and I would love to have ani- gif on my background too. I really do not understand NOKIA: Why make phones if you cant use them. Time to buy P900?

I must say the Nokia 6100 is the most disapointing phone i have ever had and as soon as contract is up i will be swoping to something else. think its time we stood up to nokia maybe then they would produce phones we want and can use. i think we should all change to the new samsung model nice phone. As for nokia they need a bang on the head for there new range

nope, no such way

Would it be possible if we flashed our 6610/7210/..... with the 3100 software. C'mon, the features are identical only in 3100 you don't have radio (not sure).
Anyone trying it out ? Oh, please backup your phonebook first and the post the results here(ie success or failure!!!)

And also,... u wouldn't be able to use the infrared cuz 3100 initialy doesn't have it,....

Too big a loss i.e. radio and ir to get the animated gif wallpapers and screensvaers.

Yeah,... so we would just have to make do with the current screensaver for the time being,... wonder if newer fones eg.6230 have an option for u to have ur own screensaver,... would be better that way,...
