Share iPhone Contacts Using iTunes:
NOTE: You can use iTunes on a computer with Internet access to sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. Then you can sync the account data, including contacts, with the Android phone.
- Connect the iPhone to the computer via USB
- Launch iTunes and click the iPhone
- Go to Info in iTunes and enable Sync Contacts With
- Select Google Contacts from the drop-down menu
- Sign in with your Google account or click Configure and select an existing account
- Click Apply to start the sync
- Once the sync is done, switch to the Android phone and log in with the same account used in iTunes
- Allow the account to sync contacts with the Android phone
Share iPhone Contacts from an iCloud Backup:
NOTE: In case the contacts on your iPhone are already backed up on your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet and export the contacts in a vCard file for Android use.
- Open the Internet browser on the computer
- Visit https://www.icloud.com/
- Log in with your iCloud account
- Go to Contacts
- Select the desired contact and click Settings > Export vCard
- After the vCard is downloaded, perform one of the steps below:
- Open the Internet browser on the computer and import the vCard to Google Contacts
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage and import it to your phonebook via Contacts
Using My Contacts Backup:
NOTE: While the methods above require a computer connected to the Internet, alternatively you can share your iPhone contacts using third-party apps. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can back up and share iPhone contacts via email.
- Go to the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on the iPhone
- Open the app and tap Backup. This will create a vCard of your iPhone contacts
- Once the vCard is done, tap Email
- Write a new email ensuring the vCard is attached
- Send the email and attachment to your own address
- On the Android device, open the email and download the vCard attachment
- Import the vCard to your phonebook using Contacts
Using Send Anywhere:
NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third-party app you can use for contact transfer on Android and iOS. The app uses a peer-2-peer connection to share contacts and other file types without requiring computer access.
- Go to the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
- Install the same app on the Android device via the Play Store
- Launch the app on both smartphones
- On the sender device, tap Send > Contacts and select the desired transfer method
- Tap Send again and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
