I'm sure some of you have one of the 7100 variants (7100t, 7100g, 7100v, etc), so the question that might be burnin in your heads when your phone rings is - can my BB get voice ringtones?
And, YES, dammit, it can! the filetype is .adp, or ADPCM to be technical, if enough people request it, i can help you get these voice ringers to work on your BB 7100 series phone!!!
Wait guys, gotta go, i'm hearin Cassidy's Hustla, which means my phone is ringing!!!

Since this is a new forum, i figured i'd post a little more info on voice ringtones for the 7100 series (7100t, 7100g, 7100v, 7100r). The file type is .adp , or technically adpcm. You can make these ringtones by downloading the philips version of mobile phone tools. I will not post a link for the software, find it yourself, google will do this for you!
The mobile phone tools software will convert your mp3 ringer into an .adp ringer, just make sure the file is no bigger than 120k, otherwise you will have problems downloading the ringer to your BB. If you are looking for some already made .adp ringers, go to this site with your BB, i think you have to register, but i know its free for sure, the site is - http://luckyluciano.completelyfreeho...s/download.php
If you want to see the site through your comp then go here - http://luckyluciano.completelyfreeho...oad/index.php?

If youre interested in knowing more on how to make them, post here and i will give you guys a more in depth tutorial!

    how to convert?

I have acidpro which is a program used to cut up songs into ringtones, however I don't know how to transfer files from MP3 to ADP files. Can someone please let me know how to go ahead and do this? Also, the desktop manager won't allow me to trasnfer music files from my computer to my BB. How would I go about putting getting the ringtones on my BB. Thanks.

cant use desktop software to transfer mp3 or adp files to your BB. You have to upload them to a site that you can access on your BB to download via the web browser! If you go to the sites listed above via your blackberry you can download any tone there, if you access it via your computer it lets you upload your own ADP files so you can later download by going to the site with your BB Browser. To convert mp3 to adp you need to get mobile phone tools (the philips version). I wont post a link to the software since i'm not sure i can, but i will point you here. www.blackberryforums.com there is a thread entitles "adpcm ringtones (true audio ringtones)for 7100 series" under the "general 7100 series discussion" forum. Unfortunately this doesnt work for the 7100i as of yet, why, not sure, but thats what i hear. Good Luck!

    7105t ringtones

Hello, I've read all of the great info for the Vidguy11, but I have the 7105t. I been to http://luckyluciano.completelyfreeho...load/index.php and I've been able to download the files to my pc. But more importantly, I've been to the site with my BB and I am able to see the .adp files, but it tells me that I don't have permission to download the file. Also, I downloaded the Phillips mobile phone software and it didn't recognize my BB (7105T). Thanks for any help on these 2 issues.

Jazz2lead, kurrupt_1 - You should never have to log in to download files on your blackberry, it looks like your problem is with your link, go to "http://luckyluciano.completelyfreehosting.com/ringtones/", not "http://luckyluciano.completelyfreehosting.com/ringtones/upload" The index file in the ringtones folder automatically forwards you to the blackberry friendly page if you enter the link above. For a direct link to the bb friendly page try going to "http://luckyluciano.completelyfreehosting.com/ringtones/download.php" on your blackberry

will work for all 7100 series black berries except, (sorry) for the 7100i. the 7100i doesnt take adpcm, it takes wav, the only problem is that no one has found a way to get them on the handheld, since downloading using the browser doesnt not work.
i changed the subject so it may clear up the confusion surrounding the 7100i and ADPCM ringtones... it does not support ADPCM ringtones, but it does support WAV files. with that said, no one has figured out how to load them, either via the Browser or MMS, to the handheld. it appears that, although the Media Player supports the audio/x-wav MIME format, the browser and MMS translators do not, thus making it impossible to load a WAV file onto the handheld, for now.

Well I hope someone will work on this issue for the 7100i or people will just have to hope that the upgraded OS will do the trick.

    kim possible ringtone

    butterfly,

I was experimenting with this software program to edit song files and decided to take on your request as my first project. I've uploaded a Kim Possible ringtone to the luckyluciano site. Artist - Kim Possible Title - Call me Beep me. Hope it's what you were looking for.
