Really seems like somewhere there should be a central list for what format each phone needs in the way of ringtones. I now have a nice collection of midi and mp3 ringtones on my PC. I need to know what formats (with specificity) the Samsung A650, Samsung E105 and LG 4400 can accept. How long should tone be. How many bits etc?

If I know what they need, I think I can figure out how to do the conversions and editing. But...I really need to know, for these three phones..what ringtone format they are happy with. I even did a search of the pdf version of my manual for the A650. Couldn't find it with a search either. Does anyone know??

we can start one big list. i'm not sure how to do it so it doesnt turn into a big mess. i guess everyone can list their own phone model and what format(s) they know for CERTAIN support

    ex
    Sanyo 8XXX
    midi ______ chords/channels, type ___
    mp3 ______ hz mono/stereo
... and any other important info. but just phone model and formats, not how to send it to your phone and all that. that'll just clog the thread

Sounds like a capital idea! I'll organize it.

Hidden Content I will try to take a look once a week and compile the list and repost so it's easy to read (and alphabetized). Eventually it should an interesting and useful thing for all...and hopefully I'll get the answers I need in the process.

    Samsung e105

    Ring Tones:
SMAF (.mff) files for Yamaha MA3 chipset (40 notes/chords at once, digital audio, or combined)

    Graphics:
    128x128, 16 bit.
Uses ICN for still images internally, software can use JPG's, BMP's, or -ONE-FRAME- ABM's for still images. Uses Animated GIF's for animated images internally. Does not support ABM animations.

Most providers forward to voicemail after 30 seconds, so most ring tones need not be longer.
