DIY ringtone iffy

Hi All,

I just got my first cell that allows downloadable ringtones. I made my own ringtone and put it on my phone (.MP3 format) but I find when I play it back that it's not nearly as loud as the ringtones that came with the phone. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a software I can use to increase the volume on the ringtone before I transfer it to my cell? Or, should I create the ringtone using a different file format?

In Cool edit pro or any audio editor program you can increase the volume of the mp3.
