Sending and Receiving a Text

  1. From the Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Or, in case the shortcut is missing, tap Apps -> then select Messaging.
  3. Then tap the New Message icon located at the top right corner of the screen.
  4. In the To field, enter the desired phone number or contact name.
  5. Tap the message field and compose your message.
  6. When you want to send the message, tap the Send icon located at the bottom left side of the screen.
  7. The SMS is now sent.
  8. Press the Home key to return back to the Home screen.
  9. Then, to open a received message, tap Messaging -> tap the message thread that you’d like to read.
  10. And that’s it! The message is displayed.

Forwarding a Text Message

  1. From the Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Or, in case the shortcut is missing, tap Apps -> then select Messaging.
  3. Now tap the desired message thread -> tap and hold the message that you wish to forward -> select Forward ->in the To field, enter the desired phone number or contact name -> tap the message field and enter a message if you want.
  4. And, when finished, tap the Send icon located at the bottom right side of the screen.

Sending an MMS (Multimedia Message)

  1. From the Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Or, in case the shortcut is missing, tap Apps -> then select Messaging.
  3. Then tap the New Message icon located at the top right corner of the screen.
  4. In the To field, enter the desired phone number or contact name.
  5. Tap the message field and compose your message.
  6. Then tap the Attach icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen -> select the file type that you want to send. For the purpose of this tutorial we’ll go with Images, but the steps are pretty similar for all the other options as well.
  7. Then select the folder where your image is located at ->tap to check the image or images that you’d like to add to the MMS and tap Done.
  8. To send the MMS, tap the Send icon located at the bottom left side of the screen.
  9. The MMS is now sent.
  10. To exit the Messaging app, press the Home key.

Saving a Picture from an MMS

  1. From the Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Or, in case the shortcut is missing, tap Apps -> then select Messaging.
  3. Then tap the desired message thread -> tap and hold the desired message -> select Save attachment -> check the attachment type and select Save.
  4. The picture will be saved to the memory card.

Updating Emergency Alert Settings

  1. From the Home screen, tap Messaging.
  2. Or, in case the shortcut is missing, tap Apps -> then select Messaging.
  3. Then tap the Menu key -> tap Settings -> select Emergency alerts -> now check or uncheck the desired alerts.
  4. The only alert that can’t be disabled is the Presidential Alert.
  5. Your emergency alerts have been set accordingly.
