Adding an App to the Home screen

  1. From the desired Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Then located the app that you would like to add -> tap and hold the app icon. This will close the app menu and create a shortcut of that particular app.
  3. Then recently created shortcut will hover over the Home screen -> position the icon on the desired location on the screen and then release it.

Deleting a Shortcut from the Home screen

  1. From the Home screen, tap and hold the shortcut you wish to delete.
  2. When the edit screen is activated, drag the icon to Remove and release it.

Note: Deleting the icon from the Home screen does not completely remove it from the smartphone, but only from that particular Home screen.

Edit the Apps Screen

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Then press the Menu key -> tap View type -> tap Customizable grid.
  3. From the Apps screen, press the Menu key again -> tap Edit.
  4. Tap and hold the desired app or folder -> drag it to the desired location and release.
  5. To move an app to a different page, drag the icon to the left or right side of the screen.
  6. To save the changes, tap Save.

Adding a Widget

  1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
  2. Then tap Widgets -> located the widget you wish to add to the Home screen -> tap and hold that particular widget until the edit screen appears.
  3. Keep holding the widget and move it to the desired location.
  4. To place the widget on the Home screen, release the finger.
  5. In case you wanted to place the widget on a Home screen that does not have sufficient room, the widget will automatically be moved to the next Home screen that has enough room available.

Resizing a Widget

  1. Tap and hold the widget you would like to resize and then release.
  2. In case the widget can be resized, a yellow grid will appear on it.
  3. Tap the circle to adjust the size of the widget -> release the widget and tap outside the widget to exit the edit mode when you’re satisfied with its size.

Creating a Folder

  1. From the desired Home screen panel, tap and hold an empty area on the screen.
  2. Then tap Folder -> name your folder and tap OK.
  3. Any empty folder will be placed on the screen.

Changing the Wallpaper

  1. From the Home screen, tap and hold and empty area of any home screen.
  2. Then tap Set wallpaper -> select Home screen, Lock screen or Home screen and Lock screens.
  3. Then select the desired wallpaper from one of the following locations:

    • Gallery -> you can select a wallpaper from the photos you’ve taken with the camera of your Samsung Galaxy S4 Active or any other images you have stored in the gallery.
    • Live wallpaper -> select one of the animated wallpapers available. The option is not available for Lock screen wallpapers.
    • Travel wallpaper -> your smartphone will display images of recommended destinations. This option uses your network connection and is available for Lock screens only.
    • Wallpapers -> select the desired wallpaper from the options available.

  4. Tap the desired wallpaper -> then tap Done or Set wallpaper.

Moving Home screens

Your Samsung Galaxy S4 Active can have up to seven Home screens and you can arrange them any way and order you want.

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Then tap Edit page -> tap and hold the desired Home screen -> then drag it to the location where you wish to place it -> then release.
  3. Whenever you move a Home screen, the other ones will be rearranged automatically.
  4. To return to the main Home screen, press the Home key.

Adding Home screens

  1. From any Home screen panel, press the Menu key.
  2. Then tap Edit page -> tap the plus sign (+) and a new screen will appear -> then drag it to the desired location.
  3. To return to the main Home screen, press the Home key.

Deleting a Home screen

  1. From the desired Home screen panel, press the Menu key.
  2. Then tap Edit page -> tap and hold the screen you would like to delete and then drag it to the Remove icon.
  3. To return to the main Home screen, press the Home key.
