Device Lock Management
Enabling / Disabling Device Lock:
- From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" button
- Select "Settings"
- Go to the "Display" tab
- Tap "Lock screen" > "Screen lock"
- Perform one of the following steps:
- To Enable Device Lock:
- Select the desired locking method
- Enter the PIN / Password or draw your pattern
- Tap "OK" or "Continue"
- Type in the PIN / Password or draw the pattern again to confirm
- Tap "OK" > "Continue"
- To Disable Device Lock:
- Type in the PIN / Password or draw your pattern
- Tap "OK" or "Continue"
- Select "None"
- To Enable Device Lock:
Changing the Device Lock Password / PIN:
- While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Select "Settings"
- Access the "Display" tab
- Tap "Lock screen" and then tap "Screen lock"
- Type in the current PIN / Password or draw your pattern
- Select a different lock screen method
- Enter the new PIN / Password or draw the pattern, then tap "OK" or "Continue"
- Repeat the previous step to confirm
SIM PIN Management
Changing the SIM PIN:
- While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "Settings"
- Go to the "General" tab and press "Security"
- Tap "Set up SIM card lock"
- If necessary, tap "Lock SIM card", enter your SIM PIN and tap "OK"
- Tap "Change SIM PIN"
- Type in the current PIN and tap "OK"
- Type in the new SIM PIN and press "OK"
- Repeat the previous step to confirm the changes
Enabling / Disabling SIM PIN:
- From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "Settings" and go to the "General" tab
- Tap "Security"
- Tap "Set up SIM card lock" and perform one of the following steps:
- To Enable the SIM PIN:
- Mark the check box associated with "Lock SIM card"
- Type in your SIM PIN and tap "OK"
- To Disable the SIM PIN:
- Unmark the "Lock SIM card" check box
- Type in your SIM PIN and tap "OK" to confirm
- To Enable the SIM PIN:
PUK Code Management
Related PUK Code Errors:
- PIN code blocked. Enter PUK code:
- Enter PUK code
- SIM card locked. Emergency calls only. Please contact Customer Care
In case you have entered the PIN code incorrectly for several times in a row, your device will block you from attempting again. To unlock the SIM card, you need to enter a PUK code.
- Contact your carrier's Customer Care service to request your PUK code
- Once the device shows the following message "SIM card is PUK-Locked. Please contact Customer Care", tap "Emergency Call"
- Type the following: " **05*PUK*NEWPIN*NEWPIN#" (Without the quotes and where "PUK" is your PUK code, and "NEWPIN" is your new PIN code)
- Tap "OK"
