Device Lock Management

Enabling / Disabling Device Lock:

  1. From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" button
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Go to the "Display" tab
  4. Tap "Lock screen" > "Screen lock"
  5. Perform one of the following steps:
    • To Enable Device Lock:
      1. Select the desired locking method
      2. Enter the PIN / Password or draw your pattern
      3. Tap "OK" or "Continue"
      4. Type in the PIN / Password or draw the pattern again to confirm
      5. Tap "OK" > "Continue"
    • To Disable Device Lock:
      1. Type in the PIN / Password or draw your pattern
      2. Tap "OK" or "Continue"
      3. Select "None"

Changing the Device Lock Password / PIN:

  1. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Access the "Display" tab
  4. Tap "Lock screen" and then tap "Screen lock"
  5. Type in the current PIN / Password or draw your pattern
  6. Select a different lock screen method
  7. Enter the new PIN / Password or draw the pattern, then tap "OK" or "Continue"
  8. Repeat the previous step to confirm

SIM PIN Management

Changing the SIM PIN:

  1. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Go to the "General" tab and press "Security"
  4. Tap "Set up SIM card lock"
  5. If necessary, tap "Lock SIM card", enter your SIM PIN and tap "OK"
  6. Tap "Change SIM PIN"
  7. Type in the current PIN and tap "OK"
  8. Type in the new SIM PIN and press "OK"
  9. Repeat the previous step to confirm the changes

Enabling / Disabling SIM PIN:

  1. From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" button
  2. Tap "Settings" and go to the "General" tab
  3. Tap "Security"
  4. Tap "Set up SIM card lock" and perform one of the following steps:
    • To Enable the SIM PIN:
      1. Mark the check box associated with "Lock SIM card"
      2. Type in your SIM PIN and tap "OK"
    • To Disable the SIM PIN:
      1. Unmark the "Lock SIM card" check box
      2. Type in your SIM PIN and tap "OK" to confirm

PUK Code Management

Related PUK Code Errors:

  • PIN code blocked. Enter PUK code:
  • Enter PUK code
  • SIM card locked. Emergency calls only. Please contact Customer Care

In case you have entered the PIN code incorrectly for several times in a row, your device will block you from attempting again. To unlock the SIM card, you need to enter a PUK code.

  1. Contact your carrier's Customer Care service to request your PUK code
  2. Once the device shows the following message "SIM card is PUK-Locked. Please contact Customer Care", tap "Emergency Call"
  3. Type the following: " **05*PUK*NEWPIN*NEWPIN#" (Without the quotes and where "PUK" is your PUK code, and "NEWPIN" is your new PIN code)
  4. Tap "OK"
