Clearing the Cache:
NOTE: assuming that your phone doesn't work correctly, you may try and fix these issues by master resetting your device. However, before doing so, you can also try and wipe the cache partition. By doing so, you avoid losing personal data stored on the phone's storage. To wipe the cache of the Trend Lite:
- Turn off your smartphone
- Press and hold "Volume Up", "Home" and "Power" at the same time
- After the phone vibrates, release the "Power" button but continue pressing the other two
- Once the "Android System Recovery" screen appears, release the "Volume Up" and "Home" buttons
- Using the volume rocker, navigate to and highlight "wipe cache partition"
- Press the "Power" button to select the option. The device will wipe the cache and then reboot in normal mode
Rebooting in Safe Mode:
In safe mode, all third party applications are disabled. This is a great feature that allows you to remove malicious applications from your device, that would otherwise prevent you from uninstalling them. To enable safe mode and uninstall an app:
- With the smartphone powered off, press and hold the "Power" button
- After the "Samsung Galaxy" splash screen pops-up, release the "Power" key, but immediately press and hold the "Volume down" button
- Continue holding the volume key until the smartphone restarts
- The "Safe mode" message will appear in the bottom-left corner of the screen. When that happens, release the volume button
- To uninstall an app, press the "Menu" button while on the home screen
- Tap "Settings" and go to "More"
- Tap "Application manager"
- Swipe to the "Downloaded" screen
- Select the problematic app and tap "Uninstall" > "OK"
- To turn off safe mode, press and hold "Power" and tap "Restart"
