Restoring Applications:
- Log in to the Google account on which the apps have been backed up
- While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
- Tap "Settings"
- Under the "Accounts" tab, tap "Google" > "Sync all"
- Press the "Back" button
- Tap "Backup and reset"
- Check / Uncheck the boxes associated with "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"
Contact Restore
Restoring Contacts from a Google or Samsung Account:
- Press the "Menu" button while on the home screen
- Tap "Settings"
- Tap the "Accounts" tab
- Select either "Google" or "Samsung", depending on the type of account you've used for the backup
- Tap your "email address" at the top of the screen
- Mark the "Sync contacts" check box. If it's already selected, tap "Sync now"
Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:
- Tap the "Contacts" icon from the home screen
- Press "Menu" > "Import / Export"
- Tap "Import from SD card"
- Select the desired account for the contacts to be imported on
- Choose the VCF file containing the contacts, and import them
Media File Restore
Restoring Media Files from the SD Card:
- Tap the "All Apps" icon located on the home screen
- Tap "My Files" > "All files" > "SD card"
- Navigate to where the files are stored on the SD card
- Tap and hold the desired file
- Select "Move". Your device will now display a list of available memory locations. To move the file in a different location, you can tap the folder name or "Create new"
- Tap "Move here"
Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Establish a connection between your smartphone and computer via USB
- Drag down the "Status" bar
- Tap "Connected as a media device" and mark the "Media device" check box
- An AutoPlay window will appear on your PC. Click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Open a new Windows Explorer window and navigate to where the media files are stored on your PC
- Copy the desired files and paste them on your phone's storage
- Once finished, safely disconnect your device from your computer by clicking the "mass storage device" icon located in the system tray
Restoring Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Connect your smartphone to your computer via USB
- Drag the "Notification" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
- Mark the "Media device" check box
- Launch Kies and click the "Back up / restore" tab
- Click the "Restore" tab
- Mark the check boxes associated with "Music", "Photo" or any other additional categories as you see fit. NOTE: you can also click the "Select all items" check box
- Click "Restore" and follow any on-screen instructions to complete the process
- Once finished, you can disconnect your smartphone from your Mac
