Transferring Contacts using Google Sync:

One of the easiest and common ways to transfer contacts from one Android device to another is by means of a Google account. All you have to do is sync the contacts from the Galaxy Ace 3 with your account, and then sync the contacts from the account with your Samsung Galaxy S5 active, as explained below:

  1. Pick up the Galaxy Ace 3 and sign up with your Google account
  2. From the home screen, press the "Menu" key
  3. Tap "Settings"
  4. Go to "My accounts" and select "Google"
  5. Tap your "user name" or "email address"
  6. Clear and then mark the check box next to "Sync Contacts". Alternatively, tap "Sync now"
  7. On the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, register the same Google account used on the Ace 3
  8. Then, tap the "Apps" icon from the home screen
  9. Go to "Settings"
  10. Under "User and Backup" tap "Accounts"
  11. Tap "Menu" > "Sync all". The contacts from the Ace 3 should now be synced on the Galaxy S5 Active

Transferring Contacts using "Import / Export":

You can use the "Contacts" application on the Galaxy Ace 3 to export your contacts in the form of a vCard file. Once the backup file is created, you can transfer it to the SGS5 Active via email or with the help of a computer. To perform this method of transfer:

  1. Launch the "Contacts" app on the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3
  2. Go to the "Contacts" tab and press "Menu"
  3. Tap "Contacts to display" and select "All contacts"
  4. Press "Menu" > "Import / Export"
  5. Tap "Export to SD card", and make sure you record the name of the backup file for future use
  6. Tap "OK"
  7. Launch the email client and start a new email
  8. Attach the vCard file to the email and send it to your own Gmail address
  9. On the Galaxy S5 Active, open the email and download the vCard attachment
  10. Next up, launch the "Contacts" app and press "Menu" > "Import / Export" > "Import from SD card" / "storage"
  11. Select an account if necessary and browse for the vCard file to load it

NOTE: Once you have created the vCard file on the Ace 3, you can transfer it to the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active by connecting both smartphones to a computer, and transferring the backup file manually from the Ace 3's storage to the Active's "sdcard" directory

Using "Send Anywhere" to Transfer Contacts:

Last but not least, you can use third party applications such as "Send Anywhere" in order to transfer your contacts. This is an app that can be used for transferring contacts and other types of files via a P2P connection, so it's not required of you to have access to a computer in order to complete this method

  1. Go to the Google Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on both Samsung devices
  2. After the app has been installed, open it on both smartphones
  3. On the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  4. Select the contacts that you want to transfer and tap "Send"
  5. Lastly, select the desired method of transfer. By tapping "Receive" on the Galaxy S5 Active, you can commence the transfer by entering the randomly generated transfer code from the Galaxy Ace 3. Alternatively, you can tap "Generate QR Code" on the Ace 3, and scan the code with the Active's camera to begin the process
