How-to: Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini: Add and Manage Contacts & Caller Groups

Contact Management

Adding a Contact to the Phone Book:

1. Tap "Contacts" while on the home screen
2. Go to the "Contacts" tab
3. Press "+" and choose to save the new contact on the "SIM card", "Device", "Google" or "Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync"
4. Type in the contact's phone number in the appropriate field
5. Enter the contact's name and provide any additional details that you desire
6. When you're ready to add the contact, tap "Save"

Adding a Contact to Speed Dial:

1. From the home screen, tap the "phone" icon
2. If necessary, tap the "Keypad" tab
3. Tap the "Menu" icon from the top-right corner and select "Speed dial"
4. Select the number that you wish to use for speed dialing
5. Choose the contact that you want to assign to the dial pad number

Deleting a Contact:

1. Launch the "Contacts" app
2. Go to the "Contacts" tab and press "Menu"
3. Tap "Delete"
4. Mark the check box next to the contact that you wish to delete
5. Tap "Done" and confirm by pressing "OK"

Contact Import / Export

Importing or Exporting Contacts from the SIM Card:

1. Launch the "Contacts" app
2. Access the "Contacts" tab
3. Press "Menu" and tap "Settings" > "Contacts"
4. Tap "Import / Export"
5. Perform one of the following sets of steps
   
   • To export your contacts to the SIM Card:
     
     1. Tap "Export to SIM card"
     2. Select the desired contacts or tap "Select all"
     3. Tap "Done" and confirm by pressing "OK"
   • To Import Contacts from the SIM card:
     
     1. Tap "Import from SIM card"
     2. Choose an account if necessary
     3. Mark the check boxes associated with the desired contacts or tap "Select all"
     4. Tap "Done"

Importing / Exporting Contacts form the SD Card:

1. Open the "Contacts" app and go to the "Contacts" tab
2. Press "Menu" and tap "Settings" > "Contacts"
3. Tap "Import / Export"
4. Perform one of the following sets of steps:
   
   • To import contacts from the SD Card:
     
     1. Tap "Import from SD card"
     2. Select where you wish to import the contacts
     3. Tap "import vCard file", "Import multiple vCard files" or "Import all vCard files"
     4. Press "OK"
     5. If necessary, select the vCard file and tap "OK"
   • To export contacts to the SD card:
     
     1. Tap "Export to SD card"
     2. Press "OK"

Caller Group Management

Creating a New Caller Group:

1. Tap the "Contacts" icon while on the home screen
2. Go to the "Groups" tab
3. Tap "Create" and type in a name for the group
4. Tap "Add member"
5. Mark the check boxes next to the desired contacts
6. Tap "Done" > "Save"

Adding a Contact to a Caller Group:

1. Launch the "Contacts" app and go to the "Groups" tab
2. Select a group and press the "+" button
3. Mark the contacts that you want to add to the group and press "Done"
