Audio File Transfer

Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a connection between the Galaxy Alpha and computer via USB
  2. Drag the "notification" bar down
  3. Tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
  4. In the AutoPlay window on your PC, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  5. Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the audio files (on your PC) that you wish to use as ringtones or notification sounds for your phone
  6. Copy the files from your computer to your phone's storage
  7. After the transfer is done, safely disconnect your smartphone

Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: The first 3 steps should be skipped if Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac

  1. Open the Internet browser on your Mac and visit Kies
  2. On the webpage, click "Download for Mac OS"
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to download and install Kies on your Mac
  4. Connect the Galaxy Alpha to your computer via USB
  5. Drag the "notification" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
  6. Open Kies on your Mac and click the "Folder" icon associated with "Internal memory" or "External memory"
  7. Go to the location where the files should be copied on your smartphone
  8. On the Mac, locate the desired audio files, and drag > drop them in Kies
  9. Safely disconnect your smartphone once the process is complete

Setting Custom Ringtones and Notification Sounds

Changing the Phone's Ringtone:

  1. Tap "Apps" while on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" > "Sound"
  3. Go to "Ringtones", under "Ringtones and Notifications"
  4. Select the desired ringtone and tap "OK" to set it

Change the Notifications Sound:

  1. From the home screen, tap "Apps"
  2. Open "Settings" and tap "Sound"
  3. Under "Ringtones and Notifications", tap "Notifications"
  4. Select the desired notification sound
  5. Tap "OK" to confirm
