Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Press "Menu" on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings" > "My device" tab
  3. Tap the "Power saving mode" switch to enable the option
  4. To customize how the mode works, tap "Power saving mode" and clear or check the boxes associated with "CPU power saving" and so on

Adjust the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Press "Menu" from the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Access the "My device" tab
  4. Tap "Display" > "Brightness"
  5. Clear the "Automatic brightness" check box if necessary
  6. Drag the brightness slider to the left to decrease the value, and tap "OK"
  7. Tap "Screen timeout" and select a lower value, such as "15 seconds"

Disable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Hotspot:

NOTE: To maximize your phone's battery performance it's recommended that you disable all connectivity features when they are not in use. This includes Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi and Hotspot

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Access the "Connections" tab and tap "More networks"
  3. Tap "Tethering & Mobile hotspot"
  4. Tap the "Mobile hotspot" switch and set it to "OFF"
  5. Swipe the "Status" bar down
  6. Tap the tiles associated with "Wi-Fi", "Bluetooth" and "GPS" to disable these features (the indicator light should be turned off)

Change Sync Settings of Apps:

NOTE: By setting your apps to sync less data or less often you can improve battery life on the long run. To do so:

  1. Press "Menu" on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings" and tap the "Accounts" tab
  3. Under "My accounts" select the desired account type and adjust the available sync settings for it
  4. For more sync settings, tap your "email address" or "user name" at the top of the screen

Disable Background Data:

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Go to the "Connections" tab
  3. Tap "Data usage" and press "Menu"
  4. Enable the "Restrict Background data" check box

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Some third party apps can affect your phone's battery performance even when you don't use them. This is because they run processes in the background. To improve battery life you can either disable or remove rarely, or never used 3rd party apps.

  1. From the phone's "Settings" menu access the "More" tab
  2. Tap "Application manager"
  3. Access the "Downloaded" screen
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap "Disable", or to remove the app tap "Uninstall" > "OK"

Switch from 4G to 2G Connectivity:

  1. Press "Menu" on the home screen and go to "Settings"
  2. Access the "Connections" tab
  3. Press "More networks" > "Mobile networks"
  4. Tap "Network mode" and select "GSM only" to restrict the connection to 2G
  5. To return to 4G, tap "LTE / GSM / WCDMA (auto connect)" or "GSM / WCMA (auto connect)"

Keep the Software Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include improvements to battery life, so it's recommended to keep your phone up to date. To check for new updates manually:

  1. Press "Menu" and access the "Settings" screen
  2. From the "More" tab, tap "About device"
  3. Tap "Software update"
  4. If necessary, tap "Check now"
  5. If a new update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to apply it on the phone
