Transfer Audio Files
From a Windows PC:
- Connect the Galaxy V to your computer via USB
- If necessary swipe the Status bar down and tap Connected as a media deice > Media device (MTP)
- In the AutoPlay window on the computer click Open device to view files using Windows Explorer
- Launch a second Windows Explorer window and locate the audio files stored on your PC
- Copy the desired files and transfer them onto your phone storage - preferably in the Ringtones and Notifications" folder(s)
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect it from the PC
From a Mac:
NOTE: If you already have Kies installed on your Mac then skip the first 2 steps
- On your Mac, navigate to Kies
- Click Download for Mac OS and follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Galaxy V to your Mac via USB
- Swipe the Status bar down and tap Connected as a media device > Media device (MTP)
- Launch Kies on the Mac and click the Folder icon associated with Internal or External memory
- In Kies navigate to where you wish to transfer the audio files
- Locate the desired files on the computer, and drag > drop them in Kies
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and disconnect it from the Mac
Add Music to the Ringtone List:
- Press Menu on the home screen
- Go to Settings and under My Device, tap Sound
- Tap Ringtones > Add
- Select either Sound picker or Choose music track
- Tap Always or Just once
- Select the desired audio file and tap OK
Add Audio Files to the Notification List:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Launch My Files > All files
- Navigate to the desired audio files
- Tap and hold a file and select Copy
- Tap Device storage and select the Notifications folder
- Tap Paste here
Set Custom Ringtones & Notification Sounds
Change the Phones Ringtone:
- Press Menu on the home screen
- Go to Settings
- Access the My device tab and tap Sound
- Tap Ringtones, select a ringtone and tap OK
Set a Custom Ringtone to a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts stored on the phone memory or the SIM card.
- Launch Contacts and select the desired contact
- Tap the Edit icon depicting a pencil
- Tap Ringtone
- Select the desired ringtone and tap OK
- Tap Save
Change the Notifications Sound:
- Press Menu from the home screen and go to Settings
- Access the My device tab
- Tap Sound > Notifications
- Select the desired notification sound and tap OK to confirm
