Hi all, first post, have tried everything else I can think of, this is my last hope before give up on my S4.
My S4 is about 2 years old I guess, a while ago I noticed the 4gig micro SD card I had in it would disappear, I'd get the "SD card was unexpectedly removed" error and since it was almost full I thought I'd try Scan Disk 32gig card and I'm still having the same problem.
I tried reformatting BOTH cards (FAT 32) on my laptop, on my son's S5 and also on the S4, both cards when it DOES show up Sometimes they appear on boot up then after about 20 minutes they disappear again, I get the same error etc etc.
Other times they don't appear on boot up, I've tried everything, even backing up and resetting the phone (twice) but nothing has helped, any ideas what could be causing this?
I've Googled it, tried everything I've found, I'm guessing it's a hardware problem, time to think about a new phone maybe? Is this a common problem with the S4's?
If I need a new phone, is the S6 better than the S5? (Don't think the edge is worth the extra money)
Frankly I'm kinda thinking I don't want another phone with an SD card, don't really trust them now. I recently had to turn in my work iPad Air, need to buy a tablet of my own, was leaning toward the Tab S2 cuz I like the idea of an SD card, has there been problems with the SD cards on the tablets too? (Not a big Apple fan)
Sorry for all the questions, any help appreciated, thanks.

Re: S4 SD card keeps unexpectidly removing itself
Anyone have any ideas?
For now I just removed the card rather than wasting more time trying to figure it out, but I would like to come up with a solution. Have 5 gig left on the phone, gonna hafta keep an eye on it till I figure it out.
Is there micro SD problems with Samsung tablets too?

Ya I tried the 4gig card too, no luck. Also, turned the phone off, put rubbing alcohol on it, put it in the phone to clean the contacts, did that about 3 times, let it dry off, turned it on, didn't help.
<EDIT>
Also tried my son's 16gig card from his S5, no luck, me thinks me's hooped ...Last edited by Fisherguy; 10-24-2015 at 09:44 PM.
