Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the Galaxy A9 to your computer via USB
  2. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the phone and enable “Media device (MTP)” if necessary
  3. Launch an Explorer window on the computer and locate the desired audio files on your computer
  4. Copy the audio files you want to use, and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” and “Notifications” folders
  5. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray, and safely disconnect the device from the USB connector

Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: In case Samsung Kies is already installed on your Mac, skip the first 3 steps below.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
  2. Visit Kies Support
  3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on the Mac
  4. Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy A9 and Mac
  5. On the phone, swipe the “status” bar down and make sure “Media device (MTP)” is enabled
  6. Launch Kies on the Mac and click the “Folder” icon associated with “Internal memory” or “External memory”
  7. Open the file explorer on the Mac and locate the audio files you want to use for ringtones / notifications
  8. Drag the desired audio files and drop them inside Kies to begin the transfer
  9. After the transfer is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop into the “Trash can”, and safely disconnect the device from the USB

Change the Phone Ringtone:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Sound and Display” and tap “Sounds and notifications”
  4. Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
  5. Tap “OK”

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Sound and Display”, and tap “Sounds and notifications”
  3. Tap “Notifications”
  4. Select the desired notification sound and tap “OK”
