Back Up App Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup & reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up Wi-Fi passwords, app data, and settings to your account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to be automatically restored upon the next login with the backup account
Back up Contacts via Samsung or Google Account:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Launch Contacts
- Tap More > Settings
- To save contacts to your Google or Samsung account, tap move device contacts to
- Return to Settings and tap Accounts
- Choose an account and tap More > Sync now
NOTE: Contacts backed up using the method above will be automatically restored upon the next login with your Samsung or Google backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Open the Internet browser on your computer
- Visit Samsung Smart Switch? and click to get "Samsung Smart Switch for PC
- Install the application on your computer and, once done, connect the Samsung smartphone to your PC via USB
- On the smartphone, enable Media device (MTP) from the notification area, and if necessary allow your computer to install any necessary drivers
- Launch Smart Switch on the computer
- Open the File Explorer and locate the desired media files on your phone
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- To restore media files from your PC, first you will need to follow the first 5 steps above
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Use the Explorer to locate the media files backed up on your PC
- Copy the files and navigate to the phone storage
- Paste the files in the Media directory on the phone, preferably in the folder(s) they originate from
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac:
- Open the Internet browser on the Mac
- Visit Kies Support and click Kies 3 for Mac
- Install Kies on the Mac and once done, connect the Samsung Galaxy Express Prime to your computer via USB
- Enable Media device (MTP) on the phone, either from the pop-up or the notification area
- Switch to the Mac and open Kies
- Access the Back up / restore tab
- Click the Backup tab and tick the boxes associated with Music, Photo, and other media file types you want to back up
- Click Backup and once the process is done, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and into the trash can to eject it
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Follow the first 4 steps above
- Open Kies on the Mac and access the Restore tab
- Check the boxes next to Music, Photos and / or other media file types you want to restore
- Click Restore and, if necessary, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process
- Once the restore is done, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the trash can to eject it
- Its now safe to disconnect the smartphone from the USB cord
