Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: In case one of your applications doesn’t work as intended, freezes, crashes, or otherwise takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache / data.

WARNING! Clearing an app’s data will result in the deletion of all your personal information stored within the app, including profiles, credit card and login details, saved games, settings, high scores etc. To avoid losing data, try fixing the app by clearing only the cache.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Device”
  4. Tap “Applications” and access “Application Manager”
  5. Swipe to the “All” or “Downloaded” screen
  6. Select the desired app and tap “Clear cache”
  7. In case clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (check the WARNING above)

Wipe the Cache Partition:

NOTE: In case your smartphone doesn’t work as indented and you’re considering factory resetting it, you might be able to fix the issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have a similar effect as a factory reset, but by clearing the cache you won’t lose any personal data stored on the internal memory. To clear the cache:

  1. If necessary, turn off the phone
  2. Press and hold “Home”, “Volume up” and “Power” at the same time
  3. When the “Samsung” logo appears, release “Power”
  4. At the “Android” logo, release the other two hardware keys and wait for the Recovery menu to appear (this may take up to 1 minute)
  5. From the Android System Recovery menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate to and highlight “wipe cache partition”
  6. Press “Power” to confirm
  7. After the cache is cleared, “Reboot system now” will be highlighted
  8. Press “Power” one last time to confirm and restart your phone

NOTE: In case clearing the cache partition didn’t solve the issues, you can visit this thread for instructions on how you can factory reset the Samsung Galaxy Express Prime.
