Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime and computer
- When prompted, enable Media device (MTP), otherwise enable the option from the notification area
- On the computer, open the File Explorer
- Use the Explorer to locate the desired audio files on your computer
- Copy the files and transfer them on your phone, preferably in the Ringtones / Notifications folders under Media
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, you can skip the first 3 steps below.
- Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
- Head down to Kies Support
- Click Kies 3 for Mac and follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on your computer
- Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy Amp Prime and Mac
- When prompted, enable Media device (MTP), otherwise enable the feature from the Notification area
- Open Kies on the Mac and inside Kies, click the Folder icon associated with Internal memory or External memory
- Open the File Explorer on the Mac and locate the desired audio files
- Drag the files and drop them inside Kies
- Once the transfer is done, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the Trash can to eject it
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- Open the apps drawer and launch Settings
- Scroll to Device
- Tap Sounds & notifications
- Under Sound, tap Ringtones and sounds
- Tap Ringtone > Add ringtone
- Select Sound picker and choose to use this option Always or Just once
- Select the audio files you want to add to the ringtone list
- Tap Done
Change the General Ringtone:
- Go to the Settings menu
- Scroll to Device and tap Sounds & notifications
- Scroll to Sound and tap Ringtones & sounds
- Tap Ringtone
- Select the desired ringtone and tap Back to save the changes
Change a Contacts Ringtone:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set to contacts located on the SIM card or the phones internal memory.
- Launch Contacts
- Select the desired contact
- Tap Edit
- Tap Ringtone and select the desired ringtone
- Tap OK > Save
Change the Notification Sound:
- Launch Settings
- Under Device, tap Sounds & Notifications
- Tap Ringtones and Sounds and select a notification type
- Select the desired notification sound
- Tap Back to apply the changes
