Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime and computer
  2. When prompted, enable “Media device (MTP)”, otherwise enable the option from the “notification” area
  3. On the computer, open the File Explorer
  4. Use the Explorer to locate the desired audio files on your computer
  5. Copy the files and transfer them on your phone, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” folders under “Media”
  6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, you can skip the first 3 steps below.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
  2. Head down to Kies Support
  3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on your computer
  4. Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy Amp Prime and Mac
  5. When prompted, enable “Media device (MTP)”, otherwise enable the feature from the “Notification” area
  6. Open Kies on the Mac and inside Kies, click the “Folder” icon associated with “Internal memory” or “External memory”
  7. Open the File Explorer on the Mac and locate the desired audio files
  8. Drag the files and drop them inside Kies
  9. Once the transfer is done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the “Trash can” to eject it
  10. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:

  1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device”
  3. Tap “Sounds & notifications”
  4. Under “Sound”, tap “Ringtones and sounds”
  5. Tap “Ringtone” > “Add ringtone”
  6. Select “Sound picker” and choose to use this option “Always” or “Just once”
  7. Select the audio files you want to add to the ringtone list
  8. Tap “Done”

Change the General Ringtone:

  1. Go to the “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds & notifications”
  3. Scroll to “Sound” and tap “Ringtones & sounds”
  4. Tap “Ringtone”
  5. Select the desired ringtone and tap “Back” to save the changes

Change a Contact’s Ringtone:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set to contacts located on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.

  1. Launch “Contacts”
  2. Select the desired contact
  3. Tap “Edit”
  4. Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
  5. Tap “OK” > “Save”

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Under “Device”, tap “Sounds & Notifications”
  3. Tap “Ringtones and Sounds” and select a notification type
  4. Select the desired notification sound
  5. Tap “Back” to apply the changes
